I was putting together my discussion notes for class tomorrow and was looking for pictures illustrating the conflict between Israel and Palestine. I found this picture:
It’s from a September 2003 Washington Post story. The look on the man’s face as he carries the child away from danger tears me up. It’s clear that he has a single focus – get the child to safety at all costs. If, when I look at the picture, I feel as though it is me running Toren to safety, does that mean I’m starting to be a dad?
