  • Cute Toren picture

While this was taken before the recent fever incident, he is back to being happy and smiling at us:

  • FEVER!!!

Nine months without any serious illnesses came to a close Monday. Taking Toren into daycare on Monday, Debi noticed he was feeling hot. She mentioned it to the workers at Toren’s daycare and they said they would monitor it. Monitor it they did… When he woke up from his nap he had a temperature of…

  • Toren updates and stories

I have more photos and videos coming, but a couple of incidents have stuck out lately that I thought were worth writing down. First, the sentimental one. Debi has class late on Wednesday, which makes that my night to put Toren down. He usually eats solid foods around 6:00 then has his bottle (or Debi…

  • pincer grasp

Toren has had a good pincer grasp for a while. Apparently he knew he did as he stopped wanting to be spoon fed at around 7 months and instead insisted on feeding himself, as he attempts in this video:

  • more ball bouncing

This is another clip of Debi bouncing a ball on Toren’s head to get him to laugh. We had friends over on New Year’s Eve and told them about this. They had to see it for themselves and are the ones you can hear laughing in the background.

  • Bean Sucker

We regularly have green beans as a vegetable accompaniment to dinner. Debi let Toren suck on a bean one night and was lucky to get it back:

  • Walking the Walk

Toren’s grandmother, Rosemary, bought him a walker when she was last here. Toren has liked sitting in it since he received it, but it wasn’t until about the end of December that he realized he could move in it. Here is some footage of him realizing he can move in the walker:

  • ball to the head = laughing baby

Debi and I discovered this favorite game of Toren’s independently – for some reason he really likes having a soft ball bounced off his head:
